IT Development Support Council Holds Regular Meeting
Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the IT Development Support Council held a regular meeting in the Office of Government.
After looking at the status of previous sitting’s assignments, the council discussed and approved the Ministry of Economy-developed new IT strategy for Armenia. Then, the meeting discussed e-commerce-related tax and customs issues, as well as the timing of the planned young specialists’ training in Germany. The Prime Minister said the latter should be included in the agenda of the Armenian-German intergovernmental commission in order to find a solution.
The Council next discussed a number of issues related to Wikipedia Armenia project. The Ministry of Economy was told to look into the possibility of assigning premises and extending financial support to Wikipedia Armenian NGO.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister heard and welcomed the idea of creating a global academic encyclopedia. Tigran Sargsyan instructed the agencies concerned to discuss the proposal and submit an opinion.
