PM Visits Arzni Sanatorium
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited Arzni Sanatorium as reconstructed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia with funds provided by SME Investment UCO to promote the development of small and medium-sized businesses.
The head of government toured the premises and medical cabinets getting familiar with the amenities and opportunities for recreation and treatment, the use of loan resources and the ongoing construction works. Tigran Sargsyan met with those citizens being treated as part of the government’s social package, who expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the facilities available and the welfare package program.
In 2013, the organization received a loan of AMD300mn from SME Investment UCO, of which about 235 million was allocated for the reconstruction of the first building of the sanatorium. The activities started in March and completed in July, 2013 covering both the living rooms and the medical offices.
The sanatorium has set up new treatment rooms, imported state-of-the-art medical equipment. Having been an all-Union multi-profile resort complex in Soviet era, Arzni Sanatorium deals with chronic diseases of the cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, musculoskeletal system and metabolic disorders, diabetes, lipid metabolism disorders, neurosis etc.
The sphere of spa vacation was given a new breath through one of the government’s initiatives - the introduction of a social package - due to which since the launch of the program Arzni sanatorium has been annually hosting about 300 welfare package beneficiaries from Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. In addition, hundreds of citizens of the Republic of Armenia get healthcare services under the State order facility.
