Prime Minister is briefed on Heifer International’s charitable programs
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received the representatives of “Heifer Project International” non-profit charitable organization.
Tigran Sargsyan gave great importance to the organization’s activities in Armenia and noted that it has achieved positive results.
“Through your efforts, people get practical support and improve their lives by their own work,” Prime Minister said.
“Heifer Project International” representatives informed that since 1999, “Heifer Project International” Armenian Branch Office has implemented 62 projects assisting more than 10,000 rural families to improve their social-economic condition.
It was noted that currently there are 13 ongoing projects in more than 100 communities in Armenia.
The organization provides needy rural families with livestock, trees, seeds of technical crops, small grants. The organization provides agricultural machinery and other equipment to rural cooperatives.
The organization’s representatives also stated that Heifer projects implemented in Armenia are highly efficient and expressed their readiness to make these pro jects continuous.
Prime Minister thanked for the continuity of these charitable projects, and informed about the RA Government’s readiness to support the implementation of these projects.

In Cooperation with the, "Agricultural Projects Implementation Unit" of the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia "Heifer Project International" supports the establishment of pasture users’ cooperatives in rural communities and provides consultancy service.. USD 700 thousand has been already invested for the project implementation and additional USD 170 thousand investment is expected by the end of this year.
