Economic Entities Should Face Fewest Possible Inconveniences
A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
Before proceeding to the agenda, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan referred to the Gold Market workers’ protest going on in front of the government building: “Last week Vagharsh and Sons Ltd workers held a protest in front of the government building and it was not the first time. This is why I am addressing this issue. I am now directing the Markets Supervision Inspectorate of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Healthcare-affiliated departments and agencies, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as the State Revenue Committee to start a checkup under the joint program developed by the Markets Supervision Inspectorate of the Ministry of Economy so that they might have to deal with a single process.”
According to Article 70 of the Constitution, the government decided to propose the National Assembly Speaker to convene a special National Assembly session at 12:00, December 10, 2013 with the agenda featuring continued debate of the State Budget Bill, as well as a set of draft amendments to the laws on State pensions and employment.
The Government approved a procedure for electronic procurements stipulating that starting January 1, 2014, central executive bodies, local governments and State agencies shall conduct e-procurements using an open procedure and framework agreements through www.armeps.am.
The meeting accepted the proposal on signing a financing agreement between the Government of Armenia and the European Commission, referred to as “Assistance to Armenia’s nuclear regulatory authority.” The project seeks to build capacity for the provider of technical assistance (TAP), and the nuclear and radiation safety support center (NRSSC). The project will have total cost of EUR1mn and a 96 -month implementation period.
The Executive amended one of its previous decisions to set up a new Government Staff division on the monitoring of anti-corruption programs. The need for it stems from the government’s anti-corruption strategy for 2009-2012-related report on monitoring results for the first half of 2011.
The Cabinet authorized the State Economic University of Armenia SNCO to participate in the founding of the Armenian Business School jointly with Glob Education (GB) LTD and the Republic of Armenia, involving 4 British universities. Under the project, Cardiff Metropolitan University will cooperate with the Armenian State Economic University.
