New Round In Air Transport Liberalization
A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The Government entrusted the Ministry of Economy with the implementation and coordination of specific measures to liberalize air transport and introduce the “open skies” policy in Armenia.
The decision provides as follows: in cooperation with the GDCA, the Ministry of Economy shall exercise the following functions: amendments to the air communication-related agreements signed between the governments of Armenia and other countries, pursuit of talks for signing new arrangement to that effect, harmonization the texts of the agreements etc.
The government granted an extension of temporary import customs regime up till November 28, 2016 to the Ministry of Emergency Situations-affiliated Western Service of Seismic Protection SNCO for Earth crust movement monitoring receiver of geophysical upheavals, which was imported from the United States in 2008.
AMD230mn was made available for the reconstruction of the educational complex of Public Administration Academician SNCO at Orbely-23.
The government adopted a series of public procurement-related decisions, prompted by the need to rebuild some road sections and ensure traffic safety in Yerevan.
The Cabinet amended a previous decision to complement the assets of Yerevan foundation with overland developer-contributed fees to provide extra financial assistance to the former owners of residential areas at Buzand 13-21. It was reported that the amounts specified in the preceding decision hade been settled in full.
Lori Marz Administration was allocated AMD2mn to extend free financial support to those households suffered from fire in 2013.
Amending an earlier decision, the meeting established that the Relief Coordination Center NGO will coordinate and ensure the settlement of Syrian students’ tuition fees a centralized manner. Note that the government has earmarked AMD10mn to that end.
The government decided to set up a “Science PO Armenia” Foundation jointly with the Armenian Academy of Public Administration and the Ex-En-Provence Institute of Political Sciences (Science PO).
AMD45mn was allocated to hold an international conference entitled “Transition challenges faced by the Armenian system of vocational training quality” in cooperation with the Dutch and Flemish Accreditation Center.
