World Bank Ready To Continue Assisting Armenia With Business Climate Improvement Effort
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation led by World Bank Executive Director Frank Heemskerk.
Appreciating the ongoing cooperation with the World Bank, the Prime Minister stressed the need to further strengthen and develop interaction. “Several programs have been implemented with the World Bank’s assistance. We feel happy for the Bank’s high opinion, according to which all the programs proved successful and efficacious,” the Premier said. Tigran Sargsyan took the opportunity to brief Mr. Heemskerk on Armenia’s socio-economic situation, noting that his government would continue implementing multifaceted institutional reforms in the face of new challenges.
“I wish to compliment Armenia for moving from the ranks of low-income countries into the group of middle-income nations. We are glad to hear about your country’s progress under the Doing Business report and your high ambitions. We will stand by your government along the path of reforms,” Frank Heemskerk stated addressing the Prime Minister.
As they went on to discuss a broad range of bilateral cooperation-related issues, the interlocutors stressed the importance of continued close cooperation in the future.
