Audiobook.am - Largest Armenian Online Audio Gallery Introduced

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended the presentation of audiobook.am website in the Ararat Diocese Primate’s Office. The event was also attended by Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan, Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and other officials.

After the Lord’s Prayer had been recited under the blessings of Ararat Patriarchal Diocese Vicar, His Eminence Navasard Archbishop Kchoyan, the Prime Minister welcomed and complimented the initiators on behalf of his government.

“This initiative will help us make a better use of our leisure time and learn in a more comprehensive way our people’s long historical heritage. I think it will be in great demand in the Diaspora, since our compatriots shall have a unique opportunity to listen to the best of Armenian literary works,” the head of government said.

This idea was conceived by President of Peoplemeter Co Narek Malyan who is convinced that the largest Armenian audio repository will go a long way toward the preservation of the Armenian identity.

He said that their 2-year-long effort has resulted in some 300 audio-books available online (classics and spiritual literature), with 400 currently in process. On Armenian Genocide’s 100th anniversary, they are going to record and post books by those Armenian writers who died on April 24, 1915.
