Vehicle Number Plates To Get More Convenient and Readable
The government passed a decision to harmonize the traffic police-administered vehicle registration numbers with new international standards: henceforth they will be more readable and suitable for use. The new plates will also feature the national flag of the Republic of Armenia.
Established by a previous government decision, the first-rate registration numbers had letters smaller than the numbers, which in some cases causes problems in terms of readability, including the similarity of O, Q, D, C capital letters, as well as large motorcycle license plates, trailers’ and semi-trailers’ long plates caused specific problems.
The decision provides that the traffic police-granted registration numbers, except for a few ones, will feature Armenia’s national flag, larger letters and numbers, the letters and numbers will be of equal size. The aforementioned square plate panels will be accordingly zoomed in and so on.
Motorcycle license plate panels will be reduced, while the letters and numbers will be of a larger size. 520X112mm-sized numbers will be applicable to the trailers and semi-trailers.
