All developer organizations will submit performance reports Control over compliance will be enhanced in construction
Of 1600 construction firms licensed in Armenia, only 778 or 50 percent are currently reporting to the National Statistics Service. To get comprehensive information on the scope of construction activities, the Government came up with a legislative initiative to amend the licensing law. Once accepted, the initiative will ensure that all of the 1600 licensed entities will have to submit performance reports. The draft law will be submitted to the National Assembly in the manner established by law.
By amending another decision, the Government expects to improve efficiency in the monitoring of State-ordered construction-related obligations. Under the currently applicable building regulations, after filling in the operational forms, the developer must apply to the community head to get the deed of act. This is necessary for the building site to be deemed as complete. At this point, of a total of two 2 thousand only a thousand final acts have been submitted to community heads. By amending the previous decision, the Government is setting conditions for the developers to register the facilities under their responsibility and start paying property taxes. At the same time, the State Committee of the Real Estate Cadastre will provide information on the appropriate departmental facility.
The Government appointed Gagik Galstyan to serve as Acting Director of Armenia’s National Architecture and Construction University Foundation who will replace in that post Acting Rector of State Engineering University of Armenia Levon Tokmajyan.
