Armenia’s legislation being harmonized with Customs Union regulations ANPP standing power unit to be operational until September, 2016 Belarusian farm machinery to continue working in Armenia
Armenia has embraced a State policy of acceding to the Customs Union. As a result, the need has arisen to tune its agro-industrial sector laws with the legal framework of the Customs Union.
Today’s Cabinet sitting revoked an earlier decision on the given issue. The Customs Union is abiding the 2013 safety regulations in the field of meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, fruit, grain and vegetable juices that ought to be localized in Armenia following its CU accession.
The following requirements will be subject to localization: all kinds of food commodities, including fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs and egg products, as well as beer hygiene and safety, labeling requirements and contact materials, food additives, their marketing procedures and so on.
In view of the fact that the projected deadline for ANPP operations is approaching, the executive approved an extension program until September, 2016. The Ministry of Finance was instructed to take steps toward signing a loan agreement between the governments of Armenia and Russia by this May 1 in order to implement the program. In parallel, the Government will activate efforts toward building a new nuclear unit in Armenia.
As decided by the Government on June 20, 2013, Seed Agency SNCO transferred AMD 900mn to SME DNC Foundation to import 100 tractors and 125 pieces of related equipment from Belarus. Armenia currently needs additional 100 tractors, harvesters and other equipment. Therefore, the repayment deadline was set at November 1, 2014.
The Armenian Police, the Ministry of Defense, the National Security Service by the Government, the SRC and the Ministry of Emergency Situations were appointed to be Armenia’s authorized entities under the CIS agreement on the fight against illegal fabrication and circulation of firearms, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices.
