Conditions in penitentiary institutions to improve Performance of civil organizations to be enhanced
Chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan, the Government at today’s meeting allocated additional 875 million drams to the Ministry of Justice so that in addition to the Armavir penitentiary institution’s new facility, intended for 400 convicts, due to be commissioned this May, another building is erected with the same capacity.
Currently criminal correctional institutions continue to be overloaded. Under development since 2006, the construction of 4 new facilities in the Armavir penitentiary institution, designed to hold 800 prisoners, is an urgent task, which will be partially solved by the present Government decision.
The meeting approved a cost estimate for 2014 concerning the funds derived from the collection of administrative fines for violations of traffic police, fixed payments for registration and examination services, and other paid services.
The Chief of Police was authorized inter alia to allocate grants to “Lousanshan” State non-profit organization and “Vahan” charitable foundation for support of veterans and police officers, to purchase 14 patrol and 37 specialized vehicles.
By Government Decree, with the right to free use for a period of 5 years allocated space in buildings located in the city of Yerevan address: Arshakunyats 2A 28, Isahakian and public organizations of economic journalists club, National Press Club, love, family, Union of Veterans of war, labour and armed forces, law enforcement agencies "," promotion of reforms (10 years), “Armenian Red Cross Society,” “Themis” and “Hakastver.”
With other decisions of the Government of the area allocated to the "National Kickboxing Federation of Armenia", the rural community of Akhurik, Shirak marz, with the condition of use as a nursery. External heating system and boiler room equipment in the 1 quarter of Tbilisi Highway town of Gyumri, Spitak City urban community were presented with the purpose of establishing the greenhouses.
The meeting authorized the State Property Management Department by the Government to dispose of State property through the direct sale of real estate of 927.7 sq. meters at the following address: Yerevan, Armenia. Mamikonyants 60/1 and the land tenant property-Aspar ARMS. It is expected that the deal will result in better use of property, will increase State budget revenue.
The Government has allowed 6 more families forcibly evicted from Azerbaijan in 1988-1992 and granted Armenian citizenship to privatize housing areas located in different hostels.
