Part of Government decisions refer to international cooperation Japan will provide Armenian rescuers 200 million yen-worth modern equipment
Government at its meeting today, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan, agreed to the proposal for signing the protocol on amendments to the October 7, 2002 CIS States’ Cooperation Agreement on Return of Minors into State of Residence. The amendments suggest periodical extension of the protocol and establishment of the necessary internal procedures for entry into force.
The government decided to extend through April 5, 2015 the term of the temporary export customs regime applicable to goods exported by Yerevan Beer CJSC. The decision, which refers to the import of container, will create favorable conditions for implementation of the annual programs.
The Government agreed to the proposal to conclude a grant agreement between the governments of the Republic of Armenia and Japan by means of exchanging notes.
The Armenian-Japanese relations, especially in the area of disaster prevention and mitigation, have been activated in recent years. The Japanese side is assisting periodically the Ministry of Emergency Situations in obtaining latest technology, training and retraining. Both countries are subject to high seismic risk, which is also an incentive to cooperate. Another aid in the form of a grant of 200 million Japanese yen is also badly needed.
The Japanese side will provide the Ministry of Emergency Situations with chemical, physical, analytical, experimental, special, precision equipment, machine tools, automation devices, medical instruments, etc.
In recent years, Armenian archers have recorded good results in the European Grand Prix and other international tournaments. In view of this reality, the government decided to allocate from the State budget about 20.5 million drams for the proper conduct in Echmiadzin of the 21st European championship from 20 to 26 July 2014. The Congress of the European Federation is due this July 20. Most of the total cost, which is about 76 million drams, will be contributed by the Armenian Archery Federation.
