Hovik Abrahamyan Receives Delegation from Amundi-ACBA Asset Management

Hovik Abrahamyan received a delegation led by Bernard de Wit, Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer of Amundi-ACBA Asset Management CJSC, which is one of Armenia’s pension fund managers.

The parties discussed the pace of pension reform in Armenia and issues related to the new legislative package stemming from the Constitutional Court’s April 2 decision.

“We attach great importance to the pension reform and will demonstrate political will to implement it successfully. To this end, we will continue cooperating with the political parties and civil society,” Hovik Abrahamyan said. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that, as a result, Armenia will have a pension system acceptable to the public at large.

Stressing the importance of the ongoing pension reform, Bernard de Wit expressed readiness to back the Government with the implementation of the proposed program. In this connection, Bernard de Wit said they have developed technical recommendations for the Central Bank’s consideration.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer said his company is prepared to work with the Government with a view to building up public confidence in the pension reform.
