PM Visits National Art Gallery in Frame of Museum Night
The 10th all-European Museum Night kicked off today, which is held on May 18 - on the eve of the commemoration of the international day of museums. On this occasion, accompanied by the Minister of culture Hasmik Poghosyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited the National Art Gallery of Armenia. The Premier walked around the exhibition halls, viewing the exhibits on display.
May 18 has been celebrated as the International Museum Day since 1977 at the initiative of the International Council of Museums. The Night of Museums has been marked since 2005 at the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.
The aim of the activities conducted under the motto of “Museums unite us” is to enhance the role of museums in the socio-cultural life worldwide, as well as to facilitate the promotion of museum exhibits.
This year society will enjoy free access to about 100 museums in Armenia and Artsakh until midnight.
