By Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan’s decision, Armen Alaverdyan was relieved of the office of First Deputy Head of State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia. According to another decision issued by the Prime Minister, Armen Alaverdyan was appointed as Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia.

1980-1982, Service in the former Soviet Army. He has first class adviser rank of Tax Service. Under a presidential decree, he was awarded the Anania Shirakatsi Medal in 2005. Under a presidential decree he was awarded the Service to Motherland 2nd degree medal in 2011. He was awarded the Fridtjov Nansen Medal on the part of the Fridtjov Nansen Foundation in 2002. During tenure of office, he authored dozens of bills as the government’s authorized representative. He is the author of over 20 published books and scholarly articles. He is fluent in Russian and French.
