PM Congratulates 2013-2014 Armenian Olympiad Winners

The Government’s Conference Hall hosted a group of students from secondary schools. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan had invited the schoolchildren to compliment and award them for demonstrating in-depth knowledge in various disciplines at the final stage of the republican Olympiad. The event was attended by Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan.

Welcoming the schoolchildren to the Government, the Premier said, “I am glad to meet the best schoolchildren of Armenia. Your achievements testify once again that Armenia’s educational system is competitive in the international arena. Your achievements are the proof that our people has special attitude toward education.”

Thanking the Ministry of Education and Science for dedicated work and thoughtfulness of our teachers’ problems, the Prime Minister referred to the upcoming educational programs.

“You are the pride of our country and the guarantors of our future plans and objectives. Knowledge-based society is the pledge of progress and sustainable development in the country, the brilliant representatives of which you are. I am sure that your victories will be continued ahead,” the head of government said.

On behalf of the students, the Minister of Education and Science thanked the Premier for reception and briefed him on the results of the Olympiad. 1460 schoolchildren attended the Olympiad in 16 academic disciplines, of which the top 62 children (from Yerevan and the provinces) won first-rate prizes. The Minister advised that the Olympiad winners will form Armenia’s national teams for participation in international Olympiads. The head of government handed in first-class diplomas and presents to the best schoolchildren of 2013-2014.

The Prime Minister said to be pleased with the fact that a nice tradition is being established in the Government that will help schoolchildren get to know the history and the present day of the Armenian Government and will promote transparency in its activities.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister photographed with the best schoolchildren of 2013-2014, urging them to study better and wishing every success.
