Armenian Prime Minister meets tête-à-tête with Belarusian counterpart
Before the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Minsk, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan had private talks with Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich.
Congratulating Hovik Abrahamyan on appointment as Prime Minister, Mikhail Myasnikovich reaffirmed his willingness to advance cooperation with Armenia on the basis of continuity. The two Prime Ministers went on to discuss issues related to the agenda of Armenian-Belarusian economic cooperation.
Hovik Abrahamyan and Mikhail Myasnikovich expressed satisfaction with the status of the bilateral agreements. Appreciating the current level of relations, the parties prioritized the need to step up the growth of trade turnover through full-fledged realization of the existing potential.
The two heads of government touched upon the imports of agricultural machinery from Belarus, the Armenian exports of farm products, as well as the development of cooperation in all spheres, both in a bilateral format and in the framework of the CIS.
In conclusion, as they exchanged views on Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union, the parties said to be pleased with the development of this process. Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed that Belarus will support Armenia’s effort toward this end.
