Today Republic of Armenia Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan has received the delegation led by Vice-President of the Federal Council, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation Micheline Calmy-Rey.
Pleased with the recent activation the Armenian-Swiss political relationship, the parties emphasized that these trends could be promoted by mutual visits and contacts on various levels. In this context, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that the present visit of Micheline Calmy-Rey might give a new stimulus to the further development of the Armenian-Swiss cooperation. According to Andranik Margaryan, the legal framework applicable between the two countries was susceptible to stimulate bilateral economic ties, which might be further strengthened by the developing political relationship. The prime minister stressed that the current level of economic cooperation between two countries still fell short of the opportunities available though they had significant development potentialities. In this context, he noted the importance of the business forum held these very days (June 12-13, 2006) in Zurich at the initiative of the Swiss Agency of Investment Support by the Ministry of Economy of Switzerland, at which, besides the economic and investment opportunities existing in our country in general, Armenia
