IT Development Support Council Holds Meeting
Chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the IT Development Support Council held a regular meeting in the Office of Government.
After hearing the report on the implementation of the orders issued at the previous meeting, the Council proceeded to the agenda.
The meeting discussed issues relating to the expediency of charging VAT on grant programs, private investment in IT-related educational programs, as well as the taxing of non-resident organizations and tax administration.
It was decided that the matter should be considered from the perspective of legislative amendments. The Prime Minister instructed the heads of responsible agencies to hold a comprehensive discussion with the stakeholders in order to find mutually acceptable solutions.
The meeting next looked at the possibility of organizing training courses for students on a free and paid basis at labs, incubators, accelerators and other IT centers. In this connection, it was suggested that the labor / tax legislation should clearly establish the status of student trainees in order to provide for appropriate regulation in their employment contracts to avoid subjective comments.
