Hovik Abrahamyan Welcomes CIS Tax Administration Heads
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received participants of the 21st Congress of Heads of CIS Tax Authorities’ Coordination Council.
Welcoming the guests, Hovik Abrahamyan expressed confidence that their visit will give new impetus to CIS countries’ cooperation in this area. The Prime Minister said the Government of Armenia attaches great importance to the improvement of the business and investment climate, including the fiscal field.
“Armenia’s government is paying primary attention to the improvement of tax and customs services. We have developed and introduced a new tax policy simplification program for small and medium-sized businesses, an electronic reporting system and the necessary infrastructure to provide quality services to taxpayers,” the Prime Minister noted.
Thanking the Premier for reception, the guests briefed him on the Congress agenda. Appreciating the fiscal improvements underway in Armenia, they stressed the need for exchange of experience.
The parties indicated that they have common goals and tasks - stronger discipline in the field of tax administration, simplified tax procedures - which can only be addressed through joint efforts.
The interlocutors expressed confidence that the above objectives might be achieved through the use of modern technology and exchange of experience, while measures like that will promote closer cooperation and deeper interaction.
