Hovik Abrahamyan Welcomes UNDP Administrator Helen Clark
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a delegation led by United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark.
The Prime Minister appreciated the activities of both the United Nations Armenia Office and the United Nations Development Program over the past 22 years.
The head of government stressed the importance of assessing the 2010-2015 UN-Armenia Framework Document and proceeding to the next stage - the development of a new UN-Armenia Development Assistance Framework Document for 2016-2020.
Hovik Abrahamyan expressed confidence that close cooperation between the relevant government agencies and the UN Office will result in a comprehensive instrument that will contribute to Armenia’s further development.
The parties stressed the need to enhance cooperation between different UN agencies and Armenia, as well as to implement joint projects in various fields.
Thanking Armenia for active cooperation with the United Nations, Helen Clark conveyed UNDP’s willingness to assist the Government with the implementation of priority programs.
Mrs. Clark stressed that the UNDP will continue to back the Government of Armenia in its efforts toward increasing efficiency in public administration, combating corruption, promoting human rights and environmental issues, providing integrated border management and implementing the Open Government Partnership programs.
