PM Awards All-Armenia Recitation Contest Winners
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan attended a closing gala concert of the 7th Republican Children’s and Youth Recitation Contest-Festival at the State Musical Comedy Theater after Hakob Paronyan.
Held under Hovik Abrahamyan’s high patronage, this year’s edition was entitled “Language and Motherland” and was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Artsakh freedom fight.
In his opening speech, the Prime Minister noted with satisfaction that the number of participants from Armenia, Artsakh and Javakhk rose to 200 thousand from 3 thousand in 2008 when the festival was held for the first time.
“We will try to promote this popular event and expand its coverage by involving our compatriots from the Diaspora," the Premier said.
According to Hovik Abrahamyan, the festival of recitation helps preserve our mother tongue and strengthen the unity of the Armenian people. He thanked the organizers for their important contribution in this regard. Congratulating the winners, the Prime Minister wished them further success.
Prime Minister’s diplomas and prizes were handed to the winner of the Grand Prix, the students who took the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in their respective age groups, as well as to the youngest participant of the festival. Special awards were given to those students having excelled in specific nominations.
For significant contribution to the establishment of the Republican Children’s and Youth Contest-Festival of recitation, Dean of the Yerevan State Theater and Cinema Institute, Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia Aneta Yerznkyan and Director of State Musical Comedy Theater after Hakob Paronyan Karo Shakhbazian were encouraged with Prime Minister’s diplomas, while the initiator of the festival program of recitation, Executive Secretary of Jury Marietta Makaryan was presented with a souvenir on behalf of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
