Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan Attends Teacher Day-Dated Event
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan attended a gala event dedicated to the Teacher’s Day.
Under a presidential decree, on the occasion of the Teacher’s Day, for significant contribution to education and pedagogical sciences, a group of teachers have been conferred upon the title of Honored Teacher of the Republic of Armenia. Another group of educators were awarded the Medal of Movses Khorenatsi. The awards were handed in by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
For patriotic upbringing of the younger generation and valuable contribution to education and pedagogical sciences, a group of educators from different regions of Armenia were presented with the Prime Minister’s commemorative medals and diplomas.
Those recognized as the year’s best teacher and mentor were rewarded with motorcars, while the best director was awarded a computer. The prizes were handed in by Prime Minister Abrahamyan.
The Head of Government issued a message on the occasion of the Teacher’s Day, which reads as follows:
“Dear teachers,
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and myself, I am congratulating you on this nice holiday - the Teacher’s Day.
Everybody loves this day. The Armenian people have always appreciated our teachers’ dedicated work and commitment to their noble vocation.
Through selfless effort, you have always been a stronghold to the homeland even at critical moments and helped strengthen the Armenian statehood. This is evidenced by our nation’s ancient history; even when we lost our statehood, our teachers continued to educate the rising generations having in mind the noble idea of reinstated sovereignty.
By overcoming many hardships, you went a long way toward building a newly independent State. All our achievements are due to your endeavors aimed at educating the new generations in the spirit of all-out devotion to the motherland.
Dear teachers,
Education has always needed the State’s backing. Cognizant of this, the Government of the Republic of Armenia is promoting and will continue to promote the educational system, mindful of the need to have a knowledge-based society and a competitive economy in the modern world. This is in our national interest. You may rest assured that the Government will step up its effort in support of this process by providing more tangible and visible assistance.
Reiterating my congratulations, I wish you happiness and boundless energy all the way through your patriotic mission.”
