Today the Jubilee Commission for Coordination of Preparations for 1600th Anniversary of Armenian Alphabet has held its first meeting presided at by Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan. It was emphasized that the celebrations should be provided a nationwide character. Commission members stressed that the jubilee events would be better held for the duration of the whole year to be concluded by the celebrations of the Translators' Day in October, 2005. It was decided to set up a task force to work out a complex action plan on the basis of the proposals moved at the meeting. The Prime Minister ordered the draft action plan to be submitted for Commission's approval before December 15, 2004.
