Prime Minister Welcomes Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi







Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received President of the Pontifical Council for Culture of the Vatican, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi.

Welcoming the Cardinal in the Government, the Prime Minister hailed the cooperation of our country with the Holy See, and stressed the role of the Holy See in the strengthening of the Christian faith, the establishment of peace and harmony in the world.

Hovik Abrahamyan highly appreciated the activities of the Cardinal, which promote spiritual and moral values, preservation of cultural heritage, as well as the recognition of the Armenian spiritual culture, which is component part of the world cultural heritage.

Cardinal Ravasi stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation toward the best representation of the Armenian culture in the Vatican, and expressed conviction that mutual visits will contribute to the strengthening of relations between Armenia and the Holy See.

Prime Minister Abrahamyan and Cardinal Ravasi also discussed issues relating to the organization of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the spread of Armenian culture in the international arena.
