Austrian Development Cooperation and UNDP to contribute to implementation of agricultural stock-taking program in Armenia
Attended by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, a co-financing agreement was signed between the Austrian Development Cooperation and UNDP in the Office of Government. It was signed by UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Bradley Busetto and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Armenia Alois Kraut.
The aim of the agreement is to facilitate the implementation in Armenia in 2014 of the second phase of the program of agricultural stock-taking. Alois Kraut appreciated the activities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the implementation of the first stage of the program of universal agricultural stock-taking with the Austrian Development Cooperation and the UN office. The Ambassador expressed the hope that at the end of the program we will have reliable basic data on agriculture in Armenia, which will also help attract investment.
Chairman of the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia Stepan Mnatsakanyan thanked the donor organizations for contributing to the preparatory work for widespread agricultural stock-taking and expert support.
According to UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative Bradley Busetto, this program is strategic in nature that will contribute to the passing of important decisions in the agricultural sector.
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan stressed the importance of the program and thanked the Austrian Development Cooperation and UNDP for assistance.
