Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan Visits Lori Marz
On October 26, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited Lori Marz. On the town square of Stepanavan, the Prime Minister attended the opening ceremony of the monument to the People’s Artist of USSR, great actor Sos Sargsyan.
The author of the monument erected in the hometown of the cultural and social figure who embodied numerous brilliant roles in the Armenian theater and film is painter-architect David Minasyan.
Then the Prime Minister visited Dsegh, the house-museum of Hovhannes Tumanyan. The Prime Minister went around the museum and was briefed on the exhibits.
In the cultural center of Dsegh, the Prime Minister participated in the presentation of prizes to students recognized as the winners of Lori regional stage of the 8th national youth competition-festival of reading held under the patronage of the Prime Minister.
Dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Hovhannes Tumanyan and the 140th anniversary of Avetik Isahakyan, the Lori stage of the festival was attended by 540 students from 162 educational institutions operational in the Marz.
The jury selected six children in two age groups who took first, second and third place. They will participate in the final all-national stage of the festival.
Welcoming the participants of the contest-festival, the Prime Minister appreciated the eight-year-old event. Thanking the organizers of the festival, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that it is already a success story as a drive for training and education of the young generation.
