New Regional Welfare Technology Center Due in Armenia
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms Vache Gabrielyan received IBM Europe and Asia regional director Kirill Kornilev on the occasion of the launch of long-term cooperation aimed at building a unique welfare capacity in Armenia.
To usher in the emerging cooperation, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan and Kirill Kornilev signed a memorandum of understanding under which the parties intend to explore possibilities for integration of new technologies and computing systems in field of social services and develop the best options for their application in a welfare State.
Hailing the launch of long-term cooperation with IBM, which seeks to find comprehensive solutions for the provision of automated social services in Armenia, the Deputy Prime Minister said it might propel significant advances in the social sector through broader access to different information sources and the use of cutting-edge technology. It will also help achieve greater integration in social services and provide high quality services to our citizens.
IBM is a global leader in technology solutions for the social sector. The IBM-developed Cúram software is being successfully applied in the USA, Canada, China, Ireland and many other European countries.
