Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Submits 2014 Performance Report
Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the Government discussed the performance report of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, implementation of the Government’s program of activities and priorities for 2014.
Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan said that under the State budget of the Republic of Armenia as of 2014 year of social protection allocated 362 billion AMD (29% of total budget) and implemented 83 expenditure programs. Work continued on the unloading of children's homes, improve the targeting and the availability of services, improving management system, increased international cooperation, modernization of information databases.
Artem Asatryan under each area of realms presented steps taken towards solving the problems of labour and employment, pensions, social assistance, people with disabilities and seniors, family, women and children. In particular, during the year, all secondary base formed a new model of employment policy, within which there are 13 active programs of State regulation.
The unemployment rate in the third quarter of the year 2014 (according to the National Statistics Service) was 17.1%. From July 1, 2014, the minimum wage is set at 50000 drams, and salary of 162 thousand employees of the State system has increased by an average of 47%.

In the implementation of the construction work in the territory of Yerevan orphanage No. 1, for the new building in need of bed rest care of older persons, which are carried out within the framework of the grant program received from the State of Kuwait. Progress continued in the implementation of activities under the strategic framework for the protection of children's rights in the 2013-2016 timeframe. A national programme to improve the demographic situation in the Republic of Armenia on the 2015-2017 years., which includes measures to ensure natural population growth.
From January 1, 2014 year introduced to promote fertility and improving the living conditions of families with many children programs of State assistance to families for the third and each subsequent child, the benefit paid on the birth of the 3-rd and 4-th child is set at a rate of 1 mln drams, for 5 second and each further child-1.5 million drams.

After hearing the reports, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan noted the importance of continued and effective implementation and management of the 2014 programs. Referring to the tasks of the Ministry for the year 2015, the Head of Government found it necessary to make full use of Local centers of integrated social services, ensure transparency of the process of adoption of children, adequate targeting of family allowances and pensions. The Premier instructed the Ministry to be consistent and keep these issues at the center of attention.
