Government Discusses Urban Development Issues
Chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, a consultative meeting was held today in the Office of Government on current situation in construction industry and development prospects, which was attended by the heads of the agencies responsible for construction.
In particular, the meeting looked at issues related to the pricing policy in the field of urban development, which were raised by Audit Chamber President Ishkhan Zakaryan.
The meeting heard the proposals voiced by the Audit Chamber, the Ministry of Urban Development and the Government Staff concerning the revision of the norms and standards, construction cost calculation methodology and the interest rates applied in cost estimates.
The Head of Government instructed to set up a working group composed of representatives of stakeholder agencies to hold expert discussions on the aforementioned problems in order to summarize the proposals and submit a finalized finding to the Prime Minister within a short period of time.
