Government Sets Profit Tax Benefits
A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
The meeting passed a procedure for the Government to approve export programs, establishing that a minimum customs value of 75 percent shall be set for the products exported under any export program eligible for “Export” customs procedure, and (or) for any such domestic goods as may be exported by a group of taxpayers toward Eurasian Economic Union-member States during the given reporting period.
The Executive set profit tax benefits for those groups of taxpayers stating at least 40 billion dram-worth aggregate transactions outside the country. In this case, 5 percent profit tax will be levied. 2 percent profit tax shall be applicable to those taxpayers boasting at least 50 billion dram-worth transactions implemented outside Armenia.
The Government amended a previous decision to improve Armenia’s position in the Global Competitiveness Index.
With a view to completing work on the design of Armenian Genocide Centennial-dedicated academic maps, the Cabinet amended a previous decision and redistributed the 2015 State budget so that on the eve of the upcoming Genocide Centennial, over a dozen academic maps will be available for distribution among educational institutions in Armenia, the NKR and the Diaspora.
The head of government said he had already seen the maps’ samples and appreciated the work done.
The Government approved the program and the list of events of “Singing Komitas” pan-Armenian festival due in 2015. The program has been drafted based on the results of the “Komitas Vardapet” festival held in 2013 and attended by some 300 representatives of 9 countries.
The meeting accepted the proposal on the signing of a protocol on amendments to the 2010 May 21 treaty “On CU-member States’ common customs registry of intellectual property.” The proposed amendments are aimed at making fundamental improvements in the mechanisms that stem from the beneficiaries’ best interest.
The meeting agreed to the proposal on the signing of a treaty “On the transport of service and civil weapons between Customs Union and Common Economic Space (Eurasian Economic Union)-member States.”
The meeting next approved the proposal on the signing of an agreement between the governments of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Kazakhstan on cooperation in the fields of civil defense, prevention and elimination of emergency situations.
The Cabinet decided that the working day of April 6, 2015 shall be substituted with the Saturday of April 11, 2015. Aram Haroutunyan was relieved of the post of Kotayk Marz Governor for transfer to another public office. Karapet Guloyan was appointed to be Kotayk Marz Governor.
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan congratulated the newly appointed Governor and wished him fruitful work.
