PM Receives International Monetary Fund Delegation
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a delegation led by Head of IMF Armenia Mission Mark Horton. The meeting was attended by IMF Resident Representative Teresa Daban Sanchez.
The parties discussed progress in bilateral cooperation and, in this context, touched upon Armenia’s economic position, the trends of economic development, fiscal and monetary policies.
The interlocutors looked at various joint programs, including in the fields of energy, agriculture and industry, as well as the possibility of supporting economic programs through the IMF-provided Extended Financing Facility (EFF).
The Prime Minister noted that the Government will push ahead with the reforms aimed at ensuring economic growth, improving the business environment, promoting exports and attracting investment.
In turn, Mark Horton noted the importance of continued activities and steps to ensure economic stability and economic growth. The interlocutors also touched upon other issues related to the Government’s priorities, tax and customs administration and bilateral cooperation.
