PM Welcomes Greek Parliament Speaker
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan hosted Hellenic Parliament Speaker Ms Zoe Konstantopoulou who is leading a Greek delegation in attendance of the Armenian Genocide centenary commemorations.
Hovik Abrahamyan appreciated the Greek delegation’s participation in the remembrance functions as another evidence of high-level relationship between Armenia and Greece.
Pleased with the current status of bilateral cooperation, the Armenian Premier pointed to the importance of boosting economic cooperation and strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.
Thankful for the warm welcome shown to her delegation, Zoe Konstantopoulou noted that as the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament, she will continue to promote the process of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
According to Ms Konstantopoulou, deeply rooted in history, the Armenian-Greek relations provide a good basis for the development of bilateral ties.
Noting that her country considers Armenia as an ally, Zoe Konstantopoulou pointed to the need for closer interaction within international organizations.
During the meeting, the parties took the opportunity to look at other issues of mutual interest.
