UAE-Armenia economic relationship discussed
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Armenia Jassim Mohamed Al Qasemi.
The Prime Minister congratulated Mr Qasemi on appointment and expressed confidence that his activities will help boost political and economic relations between the two countries.
Hovik Abrahamyan stressed the need to bolster the activities of the Armenia-UAE intergovernmental commission to promote bilateral cooperation, economic development and business ties.
Ambassador Jassim Mohamed Al Qasemi said his country attaches great importance to the relationship with Armenia and the development of joint projects.
According to the Ambassador, several businessmen from the U.A.E. are interested in making investments in our country, and to this end discussions are currently underway with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.
The interlocutors agreed in that cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, information technology, tourism and other areas might be prospective.
Prime Minister Abrahamyan underlined the importance of increased involvement of U.A.E. businesses in Armenia’s economy and assured of his government’s support for any mutually beneficial initiative.
On behalf of the Prime Minister of his country, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings to Hovik Abrahamyan and an invitation to visit the U.A.E.
Thankful for the invitation, Hovik Abrahamyan in turn extended an invitation for the U.A.E Premier to visit Armenia, noting that his counterpart’s visit might provide an opportunity to discuss ways of promoting and enhancing economic exchanges.
