Armenia - Mexico Relationship Development Discussed
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received Mexico Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Gabriela Cuevas Barron.
Welcoming Mrs. Baron’s visit to Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan expressed confidence that it will contribute to the development and expansion of Armenian-Mexican relations. The Head of Government said Armenia is keen to deepen cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and other spheres. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, including in the frame of international organizations.
Coming to economic exchanges, the Premier expressed confidence that the recently inaugurated Armenian Embassy in Mexico might help organize joint business forums to strengthen business ties. In this context, the role of reciprocated high-level visits was emphasized on either side.
Noting that Mexico is eager to develop multifaceted cooperation with Armenia, Gabriela Cuevas Barron expressed confidence that the memorandum of understanding, which was signed between the two parliaments, will help boost interstate relations.
In conclusion, the parties took the opportunity to discuss regional issues. In this context, Mrs. Baron said Mexico stands for a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group.
