North-South Road Corridor, Sustainable Urban Development Investment Programs Governing Council Holds Meeting
Chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the North-South Road Corridor and Sustainable Urban Development Investment Programs Governing Council met in the Office of Government.
The Council reviewed and approved the competition documents on the purchase of engineering works for the construction of Talin-Lanjik (18.7 km) and Lanjik-Gyumri (27.47 km) road sections under the Tranche-3 activity.
A competition on the purchase of engineering works for the construction of Talin-Lanjik (18.7 km) will be announced in the second quarter of 2015. Currently limited to two lanes and one motorway, the M1 Talin-Gyumri road section will be improved and expanded resulting in a highway with 4 lanes and 2 motorways.
The meeting next approved the proposal to acquire services of copyright control of construction works for the M1 road section Talin-Gyumri from 71 km to 117 km (Talin-Lanjik and Lanjik-Gyumri).
The Council also discussed and approved the competition documents for construction of 9 road crossings and one bridge on the M2 Yerevan-Artashat and M1 Yerevan-Ashtarak road sections, as well as the technical control framework for the above activities. The meeting also touched upon the progress in road construction programs and planned work.
The Head of Government pointed to the importance of achieving high-quality in road construction works in a timely manner and instructed the competent authorities to exercise daily monitoring over the ongoing activities.
