PM Hovik Abrahamyan Attends CIS Heads of Government Meeting
On a working visit to Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan attended a regular meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government. First, the Heads of Government met in narrow format, followed by a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government in an expanded format. The Prime Ministers of CIS-member States discussed a wide range of issues concerning integration-oriented cooperation within the CIS.
The meeting reviewed and approved the plan of joint actions of CIS countries in financial and economic sphere, approved the strategy of transport security in the territories of the CIS-member states, and the concept of inter-regional and cross-border cooperation of the CIS-member states for the period up 2020.
The Prime Ministers of the CIS countries approved a number of issues relating to enhanced cooperation in the field of intellectual property, training and skills development.
In the humanitarian sphere, they discussed issues of expansion of cooperation in the field of education and approved the main activities of cooperation of the CIS-member states in the field of culture for 2016-2020 years.
The heads of government signed a number of instruments to deepen cooperation within the CIS, including the agreement on professional development of teachers of educational institutions of the CIS countries and an agreement on mutual recognition of test results for type approval, metrological certification, verification and calibration of measuring instruments, as well as approved the appointment of officials to the CIS Executive Committee.
It was decided to hold the next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government in October 2015 in Dushanbe. After the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government, the heads of individual delegations met with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
