Prime Minister Holds Bilateral Meetings
On the sidelines of his working visit to Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev.
During the meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, the sides discussed many issues relating to bilateral economic cooperation.
Prime Minister Abrahamyan noted with satisfaction that the Armenian-Vietnamese ties have strengthened in recent years, creating a solid basis for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation. According to him, a new factor in the relations between the two countries is the cooperation between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Hovik Abrahamyan noted that there is great potential for the development of economic cooperation between the two countries, and effective steps need to be taken to make a better use of it.
In this context, Armenia’s Prime Minister suggested establishing an Armenian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission that will give a strong impetus to the development of trade and economic cooperation.
The importance of holding a joint business forum was emphasized on either side as another impetus for the development of economic ties.
Welcoming his counterpart, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that Vietnam highly appreciates the development of relations with Armenia. According to him, it is necessary to strengthen and develop trade and economic relations. He accepted with appreciation the offer of Prime Minister Abrahamyan to establish an intergovernmental commission and organize a business forum. The parties also noted the importance of deepening cooperation in the international arena.
During another face to face meeting, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev discussed prospects for the development of Armenian-Kyrgyz economic cooperation, stressing the importance of expanding cooperation in various fields.
Both sides noted the need to take effective steps in order to bolster economic relations and increase trade turnover. In this context, the parties noted the importance of revitalizing the activities of the Armenian-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Commission. The Prime Ministers of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan discussed a number of issues relating to the development of cooperation within the CIS and EAEC.
