PM Congratulates 2014-2015 National Olympiad Winners










Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a group of students from Armenia’s secondary schools: the Head of Government had invited the 2014-2015 National Olympiad final phase winners to the Government’s Session Hall to congratulate and hand them top academic awards and diplomas.

Felicitating the students, the Premier said Armenia’s authorities are proud of and cherish great expectations from them. “We are proud to have such a knowledgeable generation, which I am sure will contribute to the future prosperity of our country and people. You are building the future day and you can build a more developed and powerful Armenia. I am convinced that you will put your knowledge and skills at the service of Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora in order to make them even more powerful and united,” he said.

Hovik Abrahamyan emphasized that education, science and information technology will continue to be in focus, and the Government will spare no financial resources to ensure further development in these areas. At the same time, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of efforts aimed at ensuring maximum transparency and fairness in the sphere of education and went on to note that either this year everything has been done to hold university entrance examinations at the highest possible level.

Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister thanked all parents and teachers for raising and educating such a knowledgeable generation and expressed confidence that they will succeed in international competitions and will hold high our country’s and people’s image.

Thanking the Premier on behalf of the students for the reception, Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan gave the details of this year’s 16 National Olympiads held in different disciplines and attended by about 1500 students from all over Armenia, noting that 62 of them (from both Yerevan and Marzes) had been awarded first-class honors.

The Minister advised that the winners will compose Armenia’s national teams bound for international Olympiads. In conclusion, the Prime Minister got photographed with the best pupils of the academic year of 2014-2015 and wished them every success in future activities.
