Government Holds Extraordinary Cabinet Meeting
An extraordinary Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamian.
Based on Article 19 of the RA law “On holidays and memorial days” and Article 17 of the RA law “On freedom of conscience and religious organizations,” as well as in connection with the church holidays and memorial days, the Government decided to substitute the working day of July 13 (Monday) with July 18 (Saturday) 2015.
Several objections, proposals and recommendations were voiced during the meeting, which chiefly bore on the organization of work with foreign partners and the possible emergence of various problems in the business sector.
In response, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan noted that he shared the business executives’ concerns on the matter and asked Minister-Chief of Government Staff David Harutyunyan to discuss the issue with the political forces in the National Assembly, the Armenian Apostolic Church and the business community in order to find a mutually acceptable solution.
The meeting ordered the relevant units of the Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement Service, Real Estate Cadastre and the Visas and Passport Department of the Police to keep to the established service regime, while the Central Bank was proposed to take steps to ensure undisrupted provision of services to citizens on July 13.
