Development of Armenian-Italian Economic Relations Discussed
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia Giovanni Ricciulli.
Pleased with the current pace of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic and humanitarian spheres, Hovik Abrahamyan stressed the need to further deepen and strengthen them ahead. Referring to economic cooperation, the head of the Armenian government noted that bilateral trade turnover doubled in the first half of 2015 as compared to last year.
The Premier stressed the importance of closer contacts between the business circles of the two countries and assured of his government’s readiness to discuss any mutually beneficial proposal.
Hovik Abrahamyan noted that as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, he will do everything to develop and strengthen economic relations between Armenia and Italy. In turn, Giovanni Ricciulli said his country is eager to develop and expand multifaceted ties with friendly Armenia in a wide array of spheres.
Dwelling on economic relations, the Ambassador advised that there are numerous Italian entrepreneurs interested in the Armenian market. Mr Riciulli said he would take steps to introduce Armenia’s favorable business environment to Italian businessmen. In this context, he emphasized that Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union creates new opportunities for Italian investors.
During the meeting, the parties took the opportunity to discuss other issues of mutual interest.
