PM Visits Border Villages in Tavush Marz of Armenia
Accompanied by Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan, Chief of Armed Forces General Staff Yuri Khachaturov and Tavush Marz Governor Hovik Abovyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited today border communities in Tavush Marz of Armenia to get acquainted with the situation in the border zone, discuss the ongoing programs and objectives.
The Premier’s first stop was in the village of Parvakar. At a meeting with the residents of the community, as he touched on the borderline situation and the regular cases of ceasefire violation on the part of Azerbaijan, Hovik Abrahamyan stressed that the Armenian authorities stand by the residents of border villages and they had come to get acquainted with their problems on the spot.
Prime Minister Abrahamyan noted that by providing different social and tax privileges for border community residents, the Government is trying to address their welfare problems as much as possible.
The locals raised issues relating to gasification, rehabilitation of roads, supply of irrigation water, kindergarten renovation, students’ tuition fees and so on. The Prime Minister promised to take up them in the Government and make appropriate decisions.
Hovik Abrahamyan next called at Sevkar community where he learned that the enemy shelling had not caused any panic in the community, which was keeping by its daily routine. The head of the community thanked the Prime Minister on behalf of Sevkar residents for the repair of the water-main and the local house of culture. At the same time, the Governor of Tavush Marz reported that school rehabilitation work would soon start in Sevkar.
The Prime Minister next visited Kothi community. The locals thanked the Premier for visiting them at a time when the enemy keeps shelling the village and noted that their moral condition is high as usual. hovik Abrahamyan took note of their concerns, which related to firewood provision, 27 hectares of wheat fields left uncultivated due to enemy shelling, as well as the students’ tuition fees.
The Head of Government promised to provide adequate funds for both firewood provision and compensation for uncultivated wheat fields. The Prime Minister told the community head to submit to the Government a list of local students in order to solve the question of tuitions. Hovik Abrahamyan assured that the Government will reimburse the damage caused to houses by the enemy shelling.
Thanking the residents of border villages for keeping up their morale, the Premier stressed that led by President Serzh Sargsyan, the Armenian authorities stand by the residents of border villages and that all their problems are kept in spotlight.
