PM Chairs Discussion on Ongoing Programs in Marzes
Chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, a consultative meeting was held in the Office of Government, attended by Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan, Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, Marz Governors and other government officials.
Under the first item on the agenda, the meeting discussed progress in capital programs of primary importance underway in the provinces. It was reported that all of the projected 159 infrastructure programs were being implemented successfully, without any problems. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan stressed the importance of high-quality and timely implementation of all the programs.
The meeting next addressed the grapes harvesting process. Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan noted that a large grapes harvest has been received this year, and necessary work is being carried out on a daily basis.
17 out of 50 processing entities were reported to have already started the harvesting process, while the rest will start the campaign in a week. According to Sergo Karapetyan, relevant work is underway to ensure the collection of the entire harvest. In this context, the Minister reported that the Government has fully complied with the regional administrations’ bid for nitrogen fertilizers, diesel fuel and cereal seeds. The Governors reported that the crop will be gathered in a timely manner, considering the favorable climatic conditions.
As the preliminary draft of the State budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2016 came under discussion, the Governors in attendance took the opportunity to submit various proposals.
