PM Attends Henrik Malyan’s 90th Birth Anniversary and Henrik Malyan Theater Founding 35th Anniversary-Dedicated Event
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan attended today a jubilee event dedicated to Henrik Malyan’s 90th birth anniversary and Henrik Malian Theater founding 35th anniversary.
The event featured archival materials representing the creative activities of the Theater and its founder H. Malyan. Excerpts were read out from Malian’s “Dialogue for a third party” book, followed by episodes performed based on the Theater’s old repertoire.
After the event, the Prime Minister congratulated artistic director Narine Malyan and the actors on the jubilee, wishing them new creative achievements. Noting that culture is the focus of his government, the Premier expressed readiness to provide continued State assistance to the Theater with a view to ensuring its normal functioning.
To remind, in 1980 Henrik Malyan founded a unique of its kind cinema actors’ studio, which in 1988 was renamed after its founder. Now the Theater’s artistic director is Henrik Malyan’s daughter, Narine Malian, who follows the lead of her father.
