Prime Minister Visits Bacon Product Company
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited today Bacon Product Ltd, a domestic producer of meat products and convenience foods, which is marking the 20th anniversary of its foundation this year.
The Prime Minister toured the facilities getting acquainted with the production process and working conditions. The Prime Minister was briefed on the Company’s 20 year-long activities, achievements and new development programs.
During a briefing with news reporters, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of product quality, noting that the company has a lot of potential and technical possibilities to increase its sales and exports.
“The Government has been supporting and will stand by domestic producers so that together we may develop the economy of our country,” Hovik Abrahamyan said, adding that over the past year, the Government has implemented practical steps to ease the tax burden and remove the unnecessary barriers.
The Premier congratulated the management and the staff of Bacon Product on the Company’s 20th anniversary, wishing them every success. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan expressed readiness to assist them with their development programs.
Founded in 1995, Bacon Product Ltd meets all the necessary requirements specified in a number of decisions adopted by the Government and the technical regulations applicable to meat products. The company received a certificate of compliance with the National Standards Institute. Work is underway to introduce a HACCP quality management system.
The main directions of production are sausages, delicacies, semi-finished products, as well as a variety of Italian and Spanish sausages.
Over the past 10 years, the Company has invested an amount equivalent to USD 2,316,912. The average number of employees is 191 people, the average salary-127,600 drams.
