Government Holds Consultation on Export Promotion
Attended by representatives from the relevant government agencies and business community, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan chaired a consultative meeting on the promotion of domestic exports. The meeting focused on the situation in this area, the ongoing projects and existing opportunities. In this context, reference was made to the exports toward EAEC-member States and the Russian Federation.
As proposed by the Prime Minister, Vice Prime Minister, Minister for International Economic Integration and Reforms Vache Gabrielyan dwelt on the possibility of boosting exports toward Russia amid the proposed ban on Turkish goods by the Russian authorities. In particular, the meeting discussed steps and actions aimed at increased investment in the field of agriculture and tourism.
During the exchange of views that followed, the Prime Minister was introduced to the problems faced by export companies. Hovik Abrahamyan said the Government will back any reasonable initiative aimed at promoting the exports.
The Head of Government urged the business circles to take the opportunity and step up the amount of exports toward the Russian market. The Premier instructed the heads of the agencies concerned to actively work with the exporters in order to submit a detailed action plan on short notice.
