PM Receives Newly Appointed UK Ambassador
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received newly appointed UK Ambassador to Armenia Mrs. Judith Margareth Farnworth.
Congratulating Mrs. Judith Margareth Farnworth on assuming the office of ambassador, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that her activity will help strengthen the Armenian-British relationship. Hovik Abrahamyan stressed the importance of political and economic cooperation between Armenia and the United Kingdom, including the furtherance of trade and business relations.
Thankful for such a warm reception, Judith Margareth Farnworth stressed that the United Kingdom is keen to develop multifaceted cooperation with Armenia. She assured of her willingness to add a momentum to the development of bilateral relations in the spheres of mutual interest. Both sides described cooperation in information technology, agriculture, industry, education, culture and other fields as quite promising.
Talking about the ongoing reforms and the fight against corruption in Armenia, the Ambassador assured that the United Kingdom is ready to assist Armenia in the aforementioned areas. In turn, Hovik Abrahamyan thanked Judith Margareth Farnworth and expressed confidence that there will be progress in this direction.
The interlocutors took the opportunity to touch upon the dynamics of EU-Armenia relations, regional developments and other issues of mutual interest.
