Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Submits Performance Report
Chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the Cabinet discussed today the 2015 performance report delivered by Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan covering the Ministry’s key activities, the fulfillment of the Government’s action plan, priority tasks and estimated performance.
Armen Yeritsyan advised that a total of AMD 4.4 billion was allocated from the state budget to address pressing problems in a number of communities in 2015. 94 projects were implemented in urban and 206 in rural areas. Housing was provided to 20 families (Ararat, Armavir and Shirak regions). There have been built 28 schools and 38 roads, rehabilitated 46 preschool institutions, 20 cultural and 39 water supply facilities, gas supply and other 28 projects.
The Minister said that under the Armenia-Georgia Partnership Territorial Cooperation project’s first grant competition there were selected 8 projects to be implemented in Shirak, Lori and Tavush regions of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo-Kartli regions between local authorities, communities and joint efforts to support civil society organizations in beneficiary communities to develop joint solutions to global social and economic challenges.
Armen Yeritsyan said that at the request of citizens to review the entry ban in the Russian Federation, 7091 communications were received from the RF Federal Migration Service in response to 7826 applications forwarded by the Armenian Migration Service. The number of positive responses was 54%, 697 rejected cases of expulsion were dealt by the courts. According to the minister, as of November 1, 2015, the number of calls to 911 national alarm center rose to 999,506.
He also informed that the 47 meteorological stations Armstatehydromet system 7 95 river basin hydrological gauging stations for meteorological observation process continued. The rate of accuracy in hydro-meteorological forecasts was as follows: 96% for ten-day predictions and 94% for monthly predictions.
At the beginning of the year, the Ministry developed pilot projects aimed at community consolidation in Lori, Syunik and Tavush regions. Local referendums were held in some communities.
Appreciating the 2015 activities, the Prime Minister said serious work had been done last year in the fields of both emergency and territorial management. The Premier described the enlargement of communities as an important and successful reform.
