PM Receives A. Gemelli, Chairman of Italian Fund University Hospital
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received Dean of Medical Faculty of Italian University A. Gemelli and chairman of the board Fund Rocco Bellantone. The Prime Minister noted the importance of cooperation with the fund and noted that the recognition of the latter as a center of excellence with an experience of collaboration with about four dozen countries is a vivid fact.
Noting that since the very first years of independence, Armenia’s health sector unfolded active cooperation with Italy, the Premier stressed that the Government of Armenia is interested in strengthening economic relations with Italy, including the development of cooperation in the sphere of public health. Hovik Abrahamyan noted that he is ready to contribute to any initiative that will contribute to the expansion and deepening of the Armenian-Italian economic relations.
Mr. Bellantone thanked the Prime Minister for a warm reception and expressed confidence that the visit of his delegation will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation and implementation of joint programs. Then Rocco Bellantone presented the activities of the fund headed by him, the projects and programs of cooperation with Armenian partners.
Prime Minister Abrahamyan welcomed the signing of documents on cooperation between the Armenian ministry of healthcare and the Foundation. Hovik Abrahamyan noted that it is planned to carry out institutional reforms in our country’s healthcare system, and in this regard, stressed the importance of exchange of experience with the Italian side
