PM Receives Lebanese Minister of Labor

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received Lebanese Labor Minister Sejaan El Azzi.

Highly appreciative of Lebanese Government’s position on the Armenian Genocide recognition process, Prime Minister Abrahamyan expressed gratitude for Lebanon’s high-level participation in the “Against the Crime of Genocide” global forum and Armenian Genocide 101th anniversary commemorations in Yerevan.

Noting that this is another evidence of the age-old friendship between our two peoples, Hovik Abrahamyan stressed that Armenia is ready to build on and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with Lebanon. Coming to bilateral trade and economic ties, the Premier stressed the need for the Armenian-Lebanese intergovernmental commission to work more actively in order to fully realize the existing potential.

In turn, Sejean El Azzi emphasized that the Armenian and Lebanese peoples are bound by age-old historical friendship. Lebanon will always stand by Armenia in its effort to commemorate the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide and prevent such crimes in the future.

Mr. Azzi said Lebanon is keen to expand cooperation with our country and intensify economic ties. The Lebanese Minister of Labor assured that the Lebanese government is urging the local businessmen to make investments in Armenia. He advised that during his visit he had met with the heads of a number of Lebanese companies operating in Armenia who said to be pleased with their activities and the assistance provided by the Armenian authorities.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to the development and expansion of bilateral cooperation.
